The Peterborough Temple Band was invited to attend the Rose Bowl Parade in California over Christmas in 1996, and Celebrated the New Year in Pasadena. The  Grand Marshal that year for the parade was Kermit the Frog!  In total, this route is 5½ miles (9 km) long and takes approx 2 hours. Top marching bands from all over the world are invited. Many of the nation's top high school marching bands, along with college and organizational marching bands participate.
The band was fortunate to play an evening concert at Disney Land, and at Seaworld in San diego.
We also participated in the Holiday Bowl parade in San diego.

The Salvation Army Band is the longest participating band in the Rose Parade marching in every Parade since 1920A Band that has a long standing arrangement to be in the parade is The Salvation Army Tournament of Roses Marching Band consisting of local and visiting Salvation Army musicians (90th appearance in 2010)
